Kanye West comment renews focus on Planned Parenthood’s founder

via WND July 9, 2020 at 09:22AM

(FOXNEWS) — Kanye West’s recent bombshell interview with Forbes magazine, in which he announced a presidential bid, turned his back on President Trump and criticized Joe Biden, also reignited an old debate about the abortion industry’s controversial roots in the Black community.

West seemed to hold nothing back in the interview and, at one point, singled out Planned Parenthood, which he said has "been placed inside cities by White supremacists to do the Devil’s work.” The comment was a clear reference to Planned Parenthood’s founder Margaret Sanger, whose support for eugenics and racially charged statements in a 1939 letter remain a source of pain for many in the Black community.

“How are we to breed a race of human thoroughbreds unless we follow the same plan?" Sanger wrote in 1924. "We must make this country into a garden of children instead of a disorderly back lot overrun with human weeds."

South Carolina Abortions Increase Because Planned Parenthood is Killing More Babies

via LifeNews.com July 6, 2020 at 06:03PM

Abortions occurring in South Carolina increased by 455 in 2019 over 2018 with Planned Parenthood accounting for 57 percent of all the abortions and 86 percent of the increase in the number of abortions, according to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.

The total number of abortions occurring in South Carolina in 2019 is 5,101 over 4,646 in 2018.

The data also shows that while African-Americans make up 28 percent of the state’s population, 39 percent of the aborted babies are black. Planned Parenthood operates two abortion facilities in South Carolina: one in Columbia within walking distance of two historically black universities, and one in Charleston.

The next highest number of abortions occurred at the Greenville Women’s Clinic with 2,133. In that privately owned facility 1,293 white babies were aborted; 721 black babies were aborted, and 119 were listed as “other.”

The Medical University of South Carolina, where most of the later-term abortions are performed, upped its unborn child-killing business from 25 babies in 2018 to 41 unborn babies in 2019.

While abortions at the Planned Parenthood in Charleston increased, the number dropped at the Columbia facility where the sidewalk ministry, A Moment of Hope, maintains a faithful presence offering pregnant women help to give birth.

Racist Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger Didn’t Think Black Lives Matter

via LifeNews.com July 6, 2020 at 04:40PM

“Planned Parenthood was founded by a racist, white woman.”

No, this sentence was not penned by some pro-life activist, pushing back against the whitewashing of the legacy of Margaret Sanger by Planned Parenthood. Astonishingly, it appears in a statement signed by hundreds of current Planned Parenthood employees and supporters.

The statement was issued last month to raise concerns about the CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY), Laura McQuade (who has since been fired). In the statement, the employees expressed a litany of grievances against McQuade. But one of the charges is deeply ironic in light of the efforts Planned Parenthood has been making recently to show its support for the Black Lives Matter movement – namely that there existed a culture of “racism and anti-Blackness” at PPGNY under McQuade’s leadership.

The employees’ oddly forthright admission of Planned Parenthood’s racist history comes in the context of their complaints about an alleged lack of racial equity within the organization. After pointing out that Sanger was racist, the statement adds, “That is a part of history that cannot be changed. While efforts have been made to undo some of the harm from institutional racism, many of these issues have worsened under McQuade’s tenure.”

The statement is extraordinary in light of the enormous amount of energy Planned Parenthood and its shills in the mainstream media have put over the years into discrediting claims by the pro-life movement that Sanger was racist, and that her racism still permeates the organization. What the statement suggests is that even many within the organization know full well that this is simply propaganda.

Time to Tear Down Sanger’s Statue

In recent days and weeks, progressive protesters around the country – and indeed the world – have been tearing down statues, ostensibly motivated by the Black Lives Matter movement and the belief that the individuals depicted in the statues had some connection or another to slavery, racism, or bigotry.

This fit of iconoclasm is so indiscriminate that the rage of protesters has settled on just about any statue, so long as it depicts a white male who at some point possessed any sort of position of prominence or power. Late last month, for instance, Catholics watched with dismay as protesters in California toppled statues depicting St. Junipero Serra. Meanwhile, progressive activists are now targeting a famous statue of St. Louis, the holy medieval king, in the city of that name, demanding that it be removed.

SIGN THE PETITION: Stop Infanticide! Stop Abortions Up to Birth!

History is complicated, and being declared a saint does not mean that a person’s life was perfect, or that every decision he made was the right one. But history is quite clear that both of these saintly men ardently defended the rights of the weak, downtrodden and the exploited, often in direct opposition to the prejudices of their age.

As the Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis pointed out in a recent statement, St. Louis instituted political reforms designed to protect the vulnerable from abuses of power, and was renowned for feeding beggars at his table, even washing their feet with his own hands, in imitation of Our Lord.

Unfortunately, the same concern for the vulnerable is not evident in the lives of other famous historical figures, whose statues have remained untouched, and whose legacies have gone unquestioned by the progressive iconoclasts. Arguably one of the worst of these, the one whose legacy has resulted in the worst harm to the lives and welfare of minority communities, is Margaret Sanger, whose bust is prominently on display at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery.

Where men like St. Junipero Serra and St. Louis spent their lives striving to put into action their Christian belief in the fundamental dignity and equality of all human beings made in the image and likeness of God, and to proactively apply this belief to those in society most marginalized and vulnerable to exploitation, the same cannot be said of Sanger. Instead, Sanger adhered to the deeply inhuman and exploitative theory of eugenics, a theory that had deep ties to explicit racism.

Sanger’s Racist Eugenics

To examine Sanger’s writings is to take a trip into a horrific world of dehumanizing rhetoric and even more dehumanizing practical programs. For Sanger the world was divided into the “fit” and the “unfit” – those who she deemed worthy of being allowed to reproduce, so as to increase the quality of the human race, and those who should be forcibly prevented from reproducing through compulsory sterilization and segregation.

“The first step would be to control the intake and output on morons, mental defectives, epileptics,” she wrote in a document called My Way to Peace. “The second step would be to take an inventory of the second group, such as illiterates, paupers, unemployables, criminals, prostitutes, dope-fiends; classify them in special departments under government medical protection and segregate them on farms and open spaces.”

“Segregate them on farms and open spaces.” In other words, concentration camps for the unfit.

The state, she urged, must “apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization, and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is already tainted or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring.” In all, she estimated that some five million “mental and moral degenerates” would have to be segregated.

In the end, inspired by her thinking and that of other eugenicists, dozens of U.S. states did put in place forcible sterilization programs, in which tens of thousands of people deemed unfit were sterilized – an enormous black eye on this country’s human rights record.

Given the rampant racism at the time, especially among eugenicists, it is not surprising that Sanger focused efforts on curtailing the fertility of racial minorities. While scholars debate the extent to which Sanger was motivated by racism as such, as opposed to the racist implications of her eugenic beliefs, which tended to view poor, impoverished minority communities as less developed members of the human race, it is uncontroversial that she explicitly strove to disseminate birth control among minority communities through the so-called Negro Project.

In one infamous letter about that project, Sanger even appears to suggest that her organization was seeking to “exterminate” the blacks. While some people claim that Sanger’s meaning in the letter has been misunderstood, what is certain is that she speaks of blacks in that letter with painful dismissiveness, condemning their “ignorance, superstition, and doubts.” It is also verifiable that on at least one occasion she spoke to a meeting of the Ku Klux Klan.

On another occasion, she wrote these astonishingly dehumanizing words about the Australian indigenous peoples: “The lower down in the scale of human development we go, the less sexual control we find. It is said the aboriginal Australian, the lowest known species of the human family, just a step higher than the chimpanzee in brain development, has so little sexual control that police authority alone prevents him from obtaining sexual satisfaction on the streets.”

Sanger’s Racism Still Infects Planned Parenthood

Pro-life activists have long pointed out that the racist DNA of eugenics is still very much at work in Planned Parenthood. Just as Sanger targeted poor minority communities for her eugenic efforts, so too does her organization to this day. According to one study, 79% of Planned Parenthood’s surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of African American or Hispanic/Latino neighborhoods.

Tragically, the abortion numbers among black and other minority communities are catastrophically high, in comparison to the average population. In New York City, for instance, the latest numbers show that more black babies are aborted every year than are born alive. Across the country, the black abortion rate is three to four times that of the general population.

One black pro-life leader who has been calling attention to this black genocide happening within the borders of our own cities is Ryan Bomberger, the founder of The Radiance Foundation. In one powerful image put out by his organization, Bomberger notes: “Planned Parenthood: The leading killer of unarmed black lives.”

In a powerful op-ed penned response to the condemnations of the Charlottesville rallies a few years ago, Bomberger wrote: “I’m no fan of the Confederate battle flag or anything from that defeated nation, but if you want to tear down present vestiges of ‘white supremacy’, let’s start with Planned Parenthood.”

“Yes,” he continued, “the nation’s leading abortion chain birthed in eugenic racism and elitism. They seem to inject themselves into every social issue these days, using $554.6 million annual taxpayer dollars to pander, no matter what. They’ve been tweeting about Charlottesville and bringing an ‘end to white supremacy’. Uhhh, that would be like Penthouse wanting to bring an end to pornography….”

He concludes: “Planned Parenthood kills over 260 unarmed black lives every day in America, yet the Left praises them.”

The fact is, in their vocal support for Black Lives Matter, Planned Parenthood is simply moving the deck chairs, hoping that we will ignore the fact that they have done nothing to fundamentally reject the core values of Margaret Sanger. They are perpetuating her legacy by supporting the programs she inaugurated, and the result has been the death of untold millions of innocent African American babies over the decades.

Those hundreds of New York Planned Parenthood employees were right to label Sanger a racist, and her organization tainted by institutional racism. But if they want to repudiate that legacy, then they must renounce Planned Parenthood outright and all it stands for and close its doors. Doing so would be one of the greatest victories for racial justice in our country’s history.

Pro-Life Group Endorses Trump: “Most Pro-Life President in the History of the United States”

via LifeNews.com July 6, 2020 at 11:02AM

A pro-life organization in Kansas has issued an endorsement for President Donald Trump, saying he has done more to protect babies from abortion than any president in the history of the nation.

Kansans for Life is urging pro-life voters to support Trump against pro-abortion opponent Joe Biden, who supports unlimited abortions up to birth financed with taxpayer dollars.

“Without question Donald Trump is the most pro-life president in the history of the United States,” stated Melissa Leach on behalf of the Kansans for Life Political Action Committee.

She told LifeNews.com, “Not only has he made quality appointments to the federal bench and other federal positions, but he has reduced the flow of public dollars to the abortion industry, lent his voice to the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and became the first president to attend the National March for Life.”

Leach said Biden is not an option for any pro-life voter, noting that “Biden has taken such a radical position on this topic that he now strongly supports taxpayer-funded abortions.”

She told LifeNews that pro-life voters need to do more than just vote for President Trup, she said they need to actively support his campaign and urge pro-life friends and family to support him as well.

“Pro-lifers should do more than vote to ensure the President is able to continue his historic work on behalf of women and their preborn children. There is so much at stake in November, and we cannot leave anything on the field.”

In one of his first acts as president, Trump reinstated and expanded the Mexico City Policy, which prohibits taxpayer funding to groups that promote or provide abortions overseas. The change defunded Planned Parenthood’s international arm of about $100 million in U.S. tax dollars.

Trump has repeatedly called out the Democratic Party’s extreme position on abortion. During his State of the Union address Trump slammed the governors of New York and Virginia for promoting abortion up to birth and infanticide. He also called for Congress to pass a ban on late-term abortions on babies who are capable of feeling pain.

Trump and his administration have made a number of changes to protect those who morally object to abortions, expanding conscience protections for medical workers who believe it is wrong to kill an unborn baby and increasing religious exemptions for Obamacare.

His administration also intervened to stop the United Nations from supporting abortion in a resolution about sexual violence. In 2018, under his leadership, the State Department removed references to the so-called “right” to abort an unborn baby from a global human rights report as well.

During his presidency, the administration also finalized a new Title X rule that requires health care entities to completely separate abortion from their taxpayer-funded services. Planned Parenthood, which already has said it will not comply, could lose about $60 million annually through the policy change. However, the abortion group is suing to block the cuts.

Trump has appointed dozens of conservative judges to federal courts as well, including two to the U.S. Supreme Court and he has repeatedly told the UN that he will not promote abortion as a human right.

“Black Lives Matter” Activists Upset at Pro-Life Billboard Saying “Both Lives Matter”

via LifeNews.com July 6, 2020 at 10:01AM

A pro-life billboard in New Zealand has some Black Lives Matter activists upset because it uses the phrase “Both Lives Matter” in reference to a mother and her unborn baby.

Newshub reports the Black Lives Matter activists claimed pro-lifers wrongly borrowed language from their own campaign.

The billboard displays the phrase “Both Lives Matter” along with the image of a pregnant mother holding an ultrasound photo of her unborn baby against her stomach. Under the image is the pro-life organization’s website and the phrase, “Both deserve better than an extreme abortion law.”

“I’m disgusted this was allowed to be put up. And with that ‘slogan’ in this time?? The undertone is distasteful it’s not right man,” a Black Lives Matter activist wrote online, sharing a photo of the pro-life billboard.

The post received hundreds of negative comments from fellow activists. Many expressed outrage that pro-lifers would use similar language to defend the lives of unborn babies from abortions. Some commenters even suggested trying to vandalize or remove the pro-life advertisement in Wellington, according to the report.

But, according to the local news, the billboard has been up since October 2019 — long before the recent protests over the death of George Floyd began.

Voice for Life, the oldest and largest volunteer pro-life organization in the country, is sponsoring the ad campaign. The organization has been raising awareness about extreme pro-abortion legislation that would expand the killing of unborn babies in New Zealand.

For months, the pro-life organization has been facing complaints about its billboard campaign.

The Advertising Standards Authority Complaints Board heard one complaint last fall, alleging the ad was offensive and could lead to harassment of women seeking abortions, according to the report.

However, the board rejected the complaint, noting that differing political ideas should be “encouraged” as an “essential and desirable part of the functioning of a democratic society,” the report states.

The advertising company said the ad campaign is scheduled to end later this week.

The Black Lives Matter organization actually supports abortion, even though it destroys more black lives than any other cause. In the United States alone, since 1973, more than 20 million unborn black babies have been killed in abortions.

Miss. governor signs law banning abortion based on sex, race, genetic issues – WTOK

via “abortion” – Google News July 2, 2020 at 10:35PM

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves has signed a law banning abortion based on the race, sex or genetic anomalies of a fetus.

It adds new limits in a state that already has some of the strictest abortion laws in the U.S.

Supporters say the new law would prevent abortion for Down syndrome or other conditions. Opponents say it interferes with private medical decisions in a state with one abortion clinic.

An abortion-rights group says nine states ban abortion because of the sex of the fetus, two ban it because of race, and two ban it because of genetic anomaly.

Church Holds Worship Services Outside Its Abortion Center and Planned Parenthood is Not Happy

via LifeNews.com June 24, 2020 at 07:25PM

Planned Parenthood wants to permanently stop a pro-life church from gathering outside its abortion facility in Spokane, Washington.

The Spokesman-Review reports Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho recently filed a lawsuit against The Church at Planned Parenthood, a pro-life ministry that holds regular worship services on the public sidewalk outside the abortion facility.

The abortion chain claims the pro-life Christians are bullying patients and staff and interfering with its work. However, city police say they have not had problems with the church, the report states. Pro-life sidewalk counselors, pro-life protests and other outreaches are overwhelmingly peaceful.

“The most hated race in America is Christians right now. It really is,” Pastor Ken Peters said Tuesday during one of their services.

The lawsuit targets the church and its leaders, including state Rep. Matt Shea, Covenant Church and Covenant Christian School, Pastors Peters, Gabe Blomgren and Seth Haberman, and Clay Roy.

“These are not protesters – they are bullies who are trying to take away care from young women, men, the LGBTQ community and Black, Indigenous, people of color in Spokane,” said Karl Eastlund, who runs the Washington abortion branch, in a statement. “Enough is enough.”

The church leaders also say they are not protesters. Their purpose is to worship God and pray for repentance “of our blood guiltiness in this abortion holocaust.” Sometimes hundreds of people gather to worship with The Church at Planned Parenthood in Spokane, according to the local news.

The lawsuit accuses the Christian ministry of upsetting patients, including one who allegedly began crying when she heard the megaphone and music outside.

“The staff ultimately had to move this patient, like many others, to another room. Moving a patient requires her to get dressed and undressed again. It also requires the patient to wait until there is another room available where the noise level is lower,” the lawsuit claims.

Planned Parenthood asked the courts to permanently ban the church from gathering on the public sidewalks outside its Spokane facility and to award it damages for the alleged disturbances, according to the report.

The pro-abortion group Legal Voice also slammed the pro-life Christians as a “loud mob of angry protesters” who sometimes carry guns and “terrorize” patients.

But Peters said the claims about disrupting patients do not make sense because their church services start when Planned Parenthood closes.

“They’re not even open,” he said. “We start at 6 o’clock; they close at 6.”

The abortion chain told the newspaper that it does close its doors at 6 p.m., but patients sometimes are there until 7 p.m.

Planned Parenthood is not happy with local police either.

Spokane police have been at every church service since September, and they have not had any problems with the church-goers, police Chief Craig Meidl told the newspaper.

“I have been assured by everyone who is there that they have been following the law,” Meidl said.

But the abortion chain does not think police are doing their jobs. The lawsuit claims, “Although there is a strong police presence at [the church services], the police tend to stay on the side of the street with [the church-goers] and make conversation and smile and laugh with its participants.”

Meanwhile, the church leaders plan to expand their ministry to other states.

According to the report:

Peters, who recently announced he’s leaving Spokane to bring TCAPP demonstrations to Planned Parenthood locations across the country, said Tuesday lawyers from the American Center for Law and Justice have agreed to defend TCAPP’s leaders from the lawsuit. …

“We’re here to worship, pray, preach together. That’s all we do. We’re here to fight with spiritual weapons,” Peters told the crowd Tuesday. “They can try to keep us quiet with the sound ordinance, but they can’t stop us. So if we got to sing quiet, we’ll sing quiet. But we’re not going to stop singing. We’re not going to stop praising. We’re not going to stop.”

Since the church formed in 2018, abortion activists have been trying to restrict its life-saving work. In March, the Spokane City Council voted to expand a noise ordinance outside abortion facilities and health care facilities in the city. Pro-life leaders believe the vote directly targeted pro-life sidewalk counselors and the Church at Planned Parenthood.

Last year, in an interview with Prayer Link, a CBN talk show, Peters said he staunchly believes that the pro-life movement will succeed in the battle to protect the defenseless.

“The Bible says that hell will not prevail against the church, but I think if the church does not engage, then hell has free reign. So, what we’re doing is taking church right to the gates of hell knowing that we will win,” he said.

Joe Biden Celebrates Abortion, Calls Killing Babies in Abortions a “Constitutional Right”

via LifeNews.com June 29, 2020 at 07:26PM

Joe Biden does not support protections for women and he certainly does not support protections for unborn babies.

On Monday, he celebrated a U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down a Louisiana abortion law that would have protected women from shoddy abortion practices.

“Today’s decision reaffirmed that states can’t put in place laws that unduly burden a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions—but the fight isn’t over,” Biden wrote. “As President, I’ll codify Roe v. Wade and protect a woman’s constitutional right to choose.”

Biden claimed the law was “extreme,” but it actually had strong bi-partisan support. Its lead author is a pro-life Democrat woman, state Sen. Katrina Jackson. Passed in 2014, the law required abortionists to have hospital admitting privileges to treat patients with potentially life-threatening complications.

Though the state provided evidence of women being abandoned while suffering from abortion complications and abortion facilities failing to meet basic health and safety standards, the high court struck down the law Monday in June Medical Services v. Russo.

The majority ruled that the law was an “undue burden” on women’s access to abortion.

Biden, hoping to win the White House in November, promised to support abortion on demand.

“Women’s health care rights have been under attack as states across the country have passed extreme laws restricting women’s constitutional right to choice under any circumstance,” he said in a statement after the ruling. “As President, I will codify Roe v. Wade and my Justice Department will do everything in its power to stop the rash of state laws that so blatantly violate a woman’s protected, constitutional right to choose.”

He slammed pro-life Republicans for trying to “get rid of Roe” by passing pro-life laws that President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court justices will support. Both Trump’s nominees, Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, dissented from the majority opinion, along with fellow conservative Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

“It’s wrong. It’s pernicious. And, we have to stop it,” Biden insisted.

But Biden’s position on abortion better fits those descriptions. By supporting Roe v. Wade, he supports some of the most radical pro-abortion laws in the world. The 1972 ruling made the U.S. one of only seven countries in the world that allows elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. It prevents states from passing even modest protections for unborn babies prior to viability, and, if Biden takes office, protections for unborn babies post-viability could go away, too.

Unlike most Americans, Biden also supports taxpayer-funded abortions. If he would succeed in this goal, tens of thousands more unborn babies could be slaughtered in abortions every year in America.

Evident by his praise of the Supreme Court decision Monday, Biden also opposes protections for women against shoddy abortion practices.

In his dissent, Justice Gorsuch said Louisiana lawmakers had good reasons to pass the admitting privileges law. He said they heard testimonies from women and emergency room physicians about abortion practitioners’ record of abandoning their patients.

One woman told lawmakers that the abortionist kicked her out while she was hemorrhaging, saying: “You’re on your own. Get out.” Later, at a hospital, an emergency room doctor found body parts from her aborted baby still inside her womb, according to the ruling. Another woman who complained of severe pain after her abortion said she was told to go home. But when she went to the emergency room, she said they found a tear in her uterus and “a large hematoma containing a fetal head.”

Gorsuch also pointed to new evidence of potential criminal conduct by state abortionists, including failing to report the rape of a minor and performing an abortion on a minor without parental consent.

The Louisiana law and others abortion clinic regulations protect women, and they protect unborn babies. But the abortion industry does not want to be accountable to anyone.

A Biden presidency would be bad for women and unborn babies. Ignoring vital protections for women and children, he is aligning himself with the interests of the billion-dollar, profit-driven abortion industry.

Vice President Mike Pence Slams Abortion: “All Lives Matter, Born and Unborn”

via LifeNews.com June 29, 2020 at 03:00PM

Vice President Mike Pence has spoken out in defense of unborn children. In an interview with CBS, the Vice President said: “As a pro-life American, I also believe that all life matters, born and unborn.”

During the interview with CBS, Mr Pence was discussing the violence caused as a result of the Black Lives Matter movement currently gripping America and the wider world.

When asked by news anchor, John Dickerson, if he would say ‘black lives matter’, Mr Pence replied:

“I really believe that all lives matter. And that’s where the heart of the American people lies… as a pro-life American, I also believe that all life matters, born and unborn.”

“No human was created to be degraded dehumanised or killed”

Vice President Mike Pence has an established pro-life reputation. During the 2019 March for Life, the US Vice President assured the crowd of the current American Administration’s opposition to abortion.

Commenting on Mr Pences’s pro-life remarks, SPUC Director of Communications, Michael Robinson said: “We commend the comments made by the Vice President and hope that his remarks can encourage and inspire other world leaders to take a stand and defend their most vulnerable citizens. From womb to tomb, the pro-life movement fights injustice, precisely because of our shared humanity.

“Mr Pence’s comments remind us that each individual life matters. Humans are unique, unrepeatable and have intrinsic worth and value. No human was created to be degraded, de-humanised or killed. All lives matter.”

Mr Robinson added: “The tragic death of George Floyd and for that matter racism, is an injustice. However, when we look at the organization, we can see that Black Lives Matter (BLM) does not include ALL black lives. As an organization BLM partners with institutions and politicians that advocate for abortion and other anti-family policies.”

“Promoting the dignity of human life from conception to death”

In recent years, President Trump’s administration has stated that “promoting the dignity of human life from conception to natural death is a top priority.”

During 2019, the Trump administration cancelled a contract with a company that provided human fetal tissue from elective abortions for research, and earlier this year Mr Trump withdrew funding to the World Health Organization (WHO) after their pro-abortion response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Addressing the crowds at the Washington 2020 March for Life, the President said: “We are here for a very simple reason to defend the right of every child born and unborn to fulfill their God-given potential.

“As President of the United States of America I am truly proud to stand with you. It is your generation that is making America the pro-family pro-life nation. The life movement is led by strong women, amazing faith leaders and brave students who carry on the legacy of pioneers before us who fought to raise the conscience of our nation and uphold the rights of our citizens.”

Justice Clarence Thomas: Abortion is “Without a Shred of Support From the Constitution’s Text”

via LifeNews.com June 29, 2020 at 12:57PM

Over the years, Justice Clarence Thomas has become the most vocal Supreme Court member to remind his fellow jurists that there is no right to abortion in the Constitution. Today, as the nation’s highest court overturned a pro-life Louisiana law that saves babies from abortion and protects women’s health, Justice Thomas reminded his colleagues again that a so-called right to kill unborn children in abortions is simply not found in the text of the Constitution.

As LifeNews reported, Chief Justice John Roberts joined the four abortion advocates on the nation’s highest court to strike down the law. He said the high court is required to follow precedent in a prior Texas case that struck down a similar Texas law also requiring abortionists to have admitting privileges to care for women victimized by botched abortions.

In dissent, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote, “Today a majority of the Court perpetuates its ill-founded abortion jurisprudence by enjoining a perfectly legitimate state law and doing so without jurisdiction.”

“Our abortion precedents are grievously wrong and should be overruled,” he added, saying that the high court has “neither jurisdiction nor constitutional authority to declare Louisiana’s duly enacted law unconstitutional.”

Follow LifeNews.com on Instagram for pro-life pictures and videos.

Thomas’ dissent makes it clear that the abortion activists who brought the lawsuit didn’t even have standing to bring it, since petitioners who file lawsuits are supposed to bring such suits on their own behalf concerning their own abrogated rights or grievances, not on behalf of others.

Thomas made that problem clear: “As is often the case with legal challenges to abortion regulations, this suit was brought by abortionists and abortion clinics. Their sole claim before this Court is that Louisiana’s law violates the purported substantive due process right of a woman to abort her unborn child. But they concede that this right does not belong to them, and they seek to vindicate no private rights of their own. Under a proper understanding of Article III, these plaintiffs lack standing to invoke our jurisdiction.”

The venerable Supreme Court jurist then made it crystal clear that there is no right to abortion in the Constitution: “Those decisions created the right to abortion out of whole cloth, without a shred of support from the Constitution’s text. Our abortion precedents are grievously wrong and should be overruled.”
